Starting School (Reception)

Children born between 1 September 2020 and 31 August 2021 are due to start school in September 2025.

You must apply for a school place through the local authority in which you live. 

For most families wishing for their child/children to attend Gothic Mede Academy, that will be Central Bedfordshire Council.

Central Bedfordshire's application period is now open. There are two ways to apply for a school place: online or by filling out a paper application form.

The deadline for on-time applications (Wednesday 15 January 2025) has now passed. Families will find out which school their child/children have been allocated on national offer day, which is Wednesday 16 April 2025.

If you have not yet applied for a place, the late application round is now open. 

Late applications can be made online until Wednesday 30 April 2025. After this date, you will need to submit a paper application until the transfer round closes on Friday 22 August 2025.
